...in the same roll! Found this 1969 as well as a Bicentennial Proof! I love proofs so I was thrilled to see one right on top staring at me...I was even more thrilled when I turned the roll over and found the '69!!!

Only opened the one roll...the rest will wait until after work along with the two boxes of dimes!!!

Wish me luck!!!

I can only hope!!! I'm already happy with the 1 x 40% find!!! Anything else will just be a bonus at this point!!!

Is it a silver proof or just the regular clad?

Clad...pretty beat up too but I'll take it!!!

Stupid question though...the silver proofs would have a silver edge correct? I've never found one so I'm not really sure!

They should, but the 40%er proofs can be suspect ('68-S, '69-S, '70-S, and the '76-S). All of the pre-'71 ones are definitely 40% silver, but the 1976-S can be clad or silver. When in doubt, do the sound test.

The U.S. Mint started minting 90% silver proofs again in 1992, but those should look like regular 90% silver halves.

Of course, silver is silver homeslice.

Ask a stupid question get a stupid answer right? ;-)

I figured that would be the case!

I was saying if it was a 40%, it'd look like a 40%... IF anything, it more than likely would stand out a little more, since proof's are not found circulating around as currency....

I'm just going ya a hard time. I pretty much knew the answer to my own question and you my friend clarified that!

I just hope this box yields more silver!!!!
