First tick in Southern Virginia

Went out in the yard today to pick up all the branches that blew down the last couple days. My wife can in the house with a tick on her arm. Ticks on the 3rd. of March. It's going to be a bad bug years Im afraid so everyone spray up and check often.

Believe it or not, we've already had a ton of them out in CT. I do NOT like them critters. Already had Lyme disease once, that's enough. I've been told possums eat them by the thousands. If we could just get the possums from becoming road kill, we'd be all set. I swear, people must go out of their way to hit them. I always spray my clothes down with some bug juice before I go MDing. It seems to help.

As far as I know, I only came home with one on my shirt last year. I don't think it bit me.
I'm usually good with spraying myself before I go into the woods.

winter has no affect on ticks. here in pa we see them all yr long. i have even found ticks on the dog when the ground was covered in snow.

I believe that ticks will not attach if you have enough alcohol in your bloodstream, trust me

No Ticks in SoCAL No Mosquitos either. Sand fleas can be a problem but they do not like me. I live in Shangri La!

Ticks are bad little critters but in my neck of the woods nothing is worse than digging a target and standing up with Fire ants all over over your boots and legs. They are here to stay seems like.
