found this in the backyard a couple evenings ago and been racking my brain, it was down about 6 inches and gave quarter signal that was kind of bouncing around, looks like lead and weighs 2.8 ounces and is 3 5/8 inches long, the large end has a hole in it that looks like it had some screw threads in it at one time i can just barely tell they are there now and has 3 notches on the end i hope you can see, this maybe nothing but its driving me crazy thinking it might be some kind of shell thing from the civil war. any ideas please? ;)

ok forgot the pics here they are ;D

I think Tony is correct...

Not Jarts! Which, are now illegal >:( Although I understand why! My neighbor caught one through the ankle once... yikes! Little kids were getting killed and injured for like 20 years from those things!

Anyway - I found some pics of replacement parts, and they don't jive with your piece.

thanks jim, it may have been a top for a tent pole, i'm pretty sure it is made of lead, might be from an old tent pole ;)

Maybe the end of a probe of some kind? That is if it's not a lawn dart tip.
