Hello everyone, been reading the forum for a while, but finally found something worth more that the previous high of clad quarters so I thought I'd join and post!

I'm from Chicago and using a Garrett 150. It seems to work well enough for a newb, prolly got 25 or 30 hours on it. It seems especially good at hitting clear and earnest when it spots coins. I am lucky my girlfriend really enjoys the thrill of the hunt and comes with me sometimes. Found a lot of odds and ends, and at least $7 in clad change. Also found a 50s era Lipstick tube and a push button car stereo in a river.

Today at a local beach I found half of this Hermes pendant. It looks like a piece for lovers where each person would get half and put together make something. This one would be an infinity symbol. I checked craigslist for any ads of whom may have lost this but came up empty, someone is missing their other half (they may be in trouble when the bf or gf find out)! I've seen sold complete sets on ebay for $160, but much more in other places. Some sites say they are made of Palladium. Any way to test this? It doesn't have and stamps besides the maker (whom I know makes expensive stuff), but it might just be steel. It is 18grams.

Thanks and have been having fun reading all the stories.

And yes, I'm hooked!

Sorry, I calculate the value to be 24.476 cents! I hope it gets you over the $150.00 mark. It would be great if you found the other half!

1st - I noticed this was your very first post. So, welcome aboard from the great state of Pennsylvania (USA).

2nd - You might consider browsing Sub-Forums: Illinois for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state.
