Never found a State Copper before. But up in a farmfield in Connecticut yesterday:

Nice!

I know the back is terrible and the date is obliterated, but I understand it was only minted for a few short years. Any idea on the variety of this one? I'm clueless when it comes to State Coppers (how many different States made coppers anyway?) but now I'm curious!

Sweet old copper! :occasion14:

Excellent find. I know they mixed and matched different obverse and reverse dies making many many varieties. You might be able to narrow it down pretty well based on the bust. CT is the only state copper I've found and believe it or not but yours def better than mine!

Very nice! I gots to get out to the east coast some time so I`ll have a chance at one of them.:laughing7:

There was 5 different states that made copper coins. New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Congrats on finding a state copper. Very cool pieces of history with many varieties. I’ve found a couple Connecticut coppers and 2 Mass coppers which are beautiful coins. Hope you find the entire lineup
