MXT Pro-Minelab X-terra 705-Fisher f4
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
I search an old church parking lot in camden county nj. This church opened in 1909 and closed in 1989. I found this coin (no date standing liberty quarter) where a sidewalk would be about 3 feet from the road and about 7 inches down, i found it with my X-terra 705. Settings were 28 sensitivity ans all metal mode. I had to adjust the sensitivity several times due to high tension wires in that area. The coin rang up 40-42. 2013-03-19_19-43-25_273 (1).jpg2013-03-19_19-43-15_611 (1).jpg

Congrats! I love SLQs, such a great design. Too bad most are dateless due to poor planning by the mint.

Congrats on yout Standing Liberty - very nice coin - hope you find many more!

I HAVE FOUND A FEW BUFFALO NICKLES WITH NO DATE...POOR PLANNING BY THE MINT BACK THEN INDEED!!!

Nice SLQ, hopefully your first of many more ;D.

Great find! Still experimenting with my 705. Found several wheaties dated in the teens and twenties. No silver yet. Are you hunting true All Metal or are you hunting Disc., excepting all targets? And, how many tones do you use? TNX and HH

True all metal and 4 tones. Max sensitivity when at all possible and never go lower than 26.The mdrop off is a lot after 26 sensitivity. Stay on the iffy targets and swing a few times over them. You really have to slow your swing down to make sure you find everything.Good luck and thanks.

I forgot you really should not discriminate anything because of the detector blocking iron might mask the high tones. I found out in my yard full of iron. I could hear the high tone only in all metal because of iron masking.
