I still have snow, so, I headed south 2 county's to hunt with my friend John845 who lives there. I had a wheat penny target and after I dug the plug, I saw a small coin and it had some shine to it. 1762 Half Real... Holy Smokes...
It's about the size of a Trime....

From what little I know about mint marks, that is the Mexico City mintmark, so it's a New World issue. Nice.

Awesome coin, even though you headed south I bet you still had to deal with the frost. Congrats on the save

Nice Silver!!!!! What is the upside down button? Does anyone know if it is that a blow reed plate or draw reed plate? Congrats!!

EDIT: or are the plates the same?

WOW!!!! She's a Looker!! Big CONGRATZ.....

Great job! She sure is pretty. Congrats and continued good hunting.

Still can't believe it. Great find!!!!

30 years is along time to wait, but it looks like it was worth waiting for. I’m glad you got it. Maybe there are more close by waiting for you to find. Keep swingin.

You deserve it my friend... very nice. Tommy

Bass, you did it!! Way to go my friend! You just told me last month you hadn’t found half of the 30 things I had on the list I made. Well, there you go knocking one off after 30 years. I’m telling you man, this hobby will surprise you when you least expect it. Well done!

Well done buddy. Great feeling when you see Spanish silver come out of the dirt

Excellent find-I just hope it won’t take me another 26 years to find one.

[FONT=&quot]Great save !! and .9167 fine silver !!!
The Latin motto Vtra Que Vnum (V=U) appears and refers to the two hemispheres of the earth-- shown as a design element on this coin. It translates as “Both Are One”. The concept emphasizes the role that these coins, especially the 8 reales, enjoyed in world trade in the 18th century.
