Today it finally happened! I was given permission to hunt a very large nursery that is on an old farm from the 1600's. Before the "moment" I found 3 clad quarters, 3 clad nickles, and a penny. As the day went on and I got further and further into the fields, I finally got the beep I'd been waiting for. I dug a plug and there it was. A 1941 silver quarter!!

Man my hands were shaking! Best hunt ever! Woohoo!

Congrats sir!

Nothing like the first shiny coin coming out the hole.

Best of luck to you!

That's awesome! Did you find it with the F22? Only thing I have to say is that now that you've found silver your appetite to hunt is only going to get stronger! Enjoy! :occasion14:

Congrats! That really does get your heart racing when you get a peek of silver in the hole. HH

Super find! And your first silver is a quarter! Similarly, I had to hunt an old motel for 3 hours before I found something good: a 1967 Kennedy half. I knew other detectorists had been there before and had probably cleared out most of the coins. After the Kennedy I did finish the day with a silver ring BEHIND the motel(a small alleyway where the window A/C units are). HH

Nice!! If that is a virgin site, there should be plenty more where that came from...Congrats on your first silver, and that it is a quarter! Ddf

Way to go!! Very sweet silver !!

Congrats !!

My first silver was also a 1940's quarter. Congratulations on your first silver.

Awesome to have your first silver to be a quarter. Hopefully that site gives up some colonial as well. Congrats

Congratulations on your first shiny Silver coin recovered from the dirt. This one is special but, each and every silver coin has it's own ability to put a grin on your mug. Get some more as they sound wonderful "tinkling" against one another.:headbang:

My first was a Franklin half nine years ago. Haven't found another silver half since. Great find! Here's to many more!
