HEY ALL
well cabin fever is real bad here.... and i can see bare ground in patches, so I had to try!! I figured I would hit the beach at the campground outside of town. figured the sand might not be so frozen
WRONG, but there was patches of bare ground around the trees in the campspots, and the thick layer of pine needles helped with the digging. I found 11 large spikes..tent stakes... 9 bottle caps..7 pull tabs and a penny. I was mostly walking back to my truck hitting a spot here and there and got a real good signal. about 6 inches down i found a silver plated spoon. it says on back 1847 RODGERS BROS i looked it up and as far as i can tell it is in the legacy pattern circa 1928 It wasn't what i had in mind being my first silver but i will take it ;D It looks like it is copper underneath but can't tell for sure. does anyone know? i don't have a digatal camera yet but hope to get some pics to post soon. till then HAPPY HUNTING Majik

Congrats. Very cool. True_Metal found an 1847 Rogers Brothers silver baby spoon at the old swim hole we hunt. We didn't know that was the name of the company at the time, so we figured it was from 1847. Kind of a lousy thing for the company to be named that of all the darned names it could have vs. that being the year of the spoon. Anyway, it's a good find. Nice work.

CONGRAT. ON THE SPOON JUST KEEP ON DIGGING AND WONT BE LONG TILL YOU WILL HAVE A SET.
