hi guys and gals, my name is matt and i'm new to the forum. I had metal detected before many years ago but just about a month ago I've really put some afford into it. I went out and picked up a ace 250 and began to do some research on the web using old maps and such. my first few "hunts were less exciting then i'd like but I did pick up "a lot" of clad. crazy how much money is buried in the ground. anyway I used the google earth app to find a new spot and it turned out to be good. its a ball field now but a map of the area in 1925 shows it as a homestead. after about an hour of picking through new nickles quarters , dimes ,pennies, and some cans and of course pulltabs I had a good signal.. dug down about 6 inches and saw this in the hole...:hello2: I know its not much to some of you hard core guys but for me it was my first silver.. in good shape too. it's a 1920 merc dime in case you cant see the pic very well. i'll be back at the field tomorrow to see what else I can get. thanks for looking guys and looking forward to posting more on this site.
