I have been MDing since August 2008. With the exception of 2 Indian Head Pennies, three Wheaties, and an 1811 Russian 2 Kopek, I have had nothing but Clad. Yesterday I went to the local ball field for a school which was built circa 1960. A few prior trips had yielded clad, but I had only tried under the relatively new metal bleachers. I decided on a new strategy. I went out to shallow right field and started to randomly swing. Ended up with 2 Mercs - a 1943 and 1944. Man it was sweet to finally see that silver after 19 months. They were probably lost when the school first opened, and now I have a spot which might produce some more silver. Worst case scenario I hope to pick-up a few silver Rosies. Who knows maybe the field was active before the school and there are some older coins out there. I am just happy to report that I am finally on the board.
