That is a chunky ring. Post some photos when you get it cleaned up. I bet it's really pretty.

as requested here it is all cleaned up. does anyone have an idea what the center piece is of?
it reminds me of some sort of patron saint medal but i have never seen a saint ring. at the same time I'm not catholic or religious so i have know clue and can't seem to find out even with google helping me.

wow, that's awesome!

Now that is a nice man's ring. Was it found in water? The pre-cleaned pics made me think it was.

i found it at the oldest high school in my city. according to Wikipedia it had been moved to its current site in 1924.
i only hunted for about an hour do to fading light. i started at the base of a foot path down a hill from the parking lot and found a few dimes and pull tabs. after feeling i gave that spot a good sweep, i decided to head over to one of my other favorite spots on any field to detect ( next to a fence about 5 to 15 feet back.) and started to swing my machine. after about 10 feet or so i get this super small faint signal in the silver range, so i turned up the sensitivity a bit and got a better hit, dug my plug and started to scoop dirt out. walla there he was just laying on his side with the face in the dirt looking like a small binder ring, well it was a ring just not for a binder.:laughing7:
