Living near the 6300' level in Idaho, there is still a lot of snow on the ground and the ground is frozen. This weekend I went to my step sons new home in Twin Falls, ID. It's an old ranch house. It's a rental and has very little property. The good news was there was no snow and the ground was not frozen. I took my Ace 250 out and hit quite a bit of junk and clad. The first good coin to pop out was a 1945 penny in VF condition. I then hit a small strip of dirt along the driveway. I about got my earphones knocked off with a solid $1.00 signal. Just 2" down I pulled out a 1900 "O" Morgan silver dollar. It's also in VF 30 condition. I then went to the front lawn and found a worn but still readable 1918 "S" Merc dime and then another Merc, 1942 "S" in VF 30+ condition. I wish I had more time. I ordered a 4.5" sniper coil that came today. I can't wait to go back with the small coil and cherry pick through the junk. All in all I was pretty darn happy. Not bad for 2.5 hours of hunting. Even if it's cold, get out there, those coins are still in the ground. Any time I find a silver dollar, I get a chill running down my leg that Obama only wishes he could give me !
