Found my first silver half on Friday at an old school that's been converted to apartments.
It's been pounded over the years by others and my buddy who lives there. I've never found much there but my buddy found a gold ring once. This coin is obviously bent but I could care less. We detected on a slope that I'm assuming most folks wouldnt. It was 7" deep and gave a great signal. Later I found this old toy gas truck. I think it's from the 50s. First one that has all of it's wheels. IMG_20170715_164538.jpgIMG_20170715_164605.jpgIMG_20170715_165144.jpg

Put the half in between 2 boards in a vice (2x4) and compress. Will not scratch and leave a nice reverse image in the boards

great silver! I love the truck too, it looks like a good one, Tootsie?

Congratualtions on the large silver! :occasion14:

She's just beautiful. Like my old Tootsie toys as well. It's your choice to try and "flatten" it back or not but, I kinda' like the character of finds like your pretty lady half dollar. Makes you wonder how she got bent in the first place. It doesn't look like a lawnmower got her as she doesn't appear to show any damage from the blade striking it. Hmmm? Very cool and congrats on your first WLH and a unique one at that. Work that slope some more I'd say. :headbang:

Great finds I would leave it . This way you will never forget that cool find!!!!!!!

Congrats on the big silver!! Bend it flat!! what a coin,.. WTG :occasion14:

Yeah, I'm gonna try to resist the urge to straighten it out. My buddy and I also pondered the cause of the bend and noticed the lack of scaring. Maybe it was a really dull mower blade. or perhaps it was in something when it got hit, like a wallet. It's funny cause when I dug it at first I sawjust the portion in the red circle here. It looked like marred up aluminium but I was curious enough to still dig it. IMG_20170716_231249.jpg

I believe the truck is a Tootsie. Didn't clean it enough to tellfor sure.

Great finds! I'd leave her just like I found her. The truck is in great shape though!

Congrats on your first Half Dollar. If I find bent coins worthy of my coin albums, I do like the others suggested. Put it between two boards or towels, and slowly turn the vice down on it. That bend is not that bad, so as to damage the coin. Good thing is, is that the coin is yours so you can do what you want with it. Also like what seems to be a Tootsie Toy car. Look underneath, it will be marked.

Congrats on the Walker! I can see how you thought it was aluminum, the bent shape and probably also the too good to be true high signal you had. I would try to flatten it out, very carefully...
