Wow that's one heck of a piece of silver. Spanish reales are very cool! I would search that area really hard and see if you can pull out another real, copper, or even some other colonial relics. That is an awesome find.

Congrats on your first silver of the year. Thats a heck of a coin to break the ice for the year.

Thanks for the replies. Its been way to hot to do anything this summer. I also found a large cent at a old one room school this spring.........but it was toasted.

My Ses is nearly always left on near max, its a must unless the ground conditions force you otherwise. nice silver!

Wow that’s a fantastic find. Congrats! I’m going to turn up my sensitivity just a bit more now.

holy smokes that's awesome. I would pinch myself if I dug a 1700s silver. nice job

Congrats on the Spanish silver. Quality over quantity, nicely played silver strategy.

Thanks again for the replies. I live in a house built in 1812. And this is the oldest coin so far for my neighborhood. I don't post much because I find very few good finds. This coin was found about a 100 feet from house. I use a Whites 5900 di pro sl that I bought back in the 80's. I believe this is a one reale about the size of a nickel. It rang up between a nickel and a dime. Then between a dime and a quarter after I pulled the plug. HH.
