Hello everyone
Dug this 1917 type 1 standing liberty a few weeks ago. Brought it to a coin shop and was offered $30. Not looking to sell it just curious. Does this sound right?

Melt value is currently about $5, but for the coin, $30-35 is a fair estimate. Great find!

It's always tough to evaluate these by pictures only but from the looks of your coin it looks to be at least a VF-30. I cant tell if its the flash from your camera or if you cleaned it but it looks like it has been cleaned up or polished. If that's the case then $30 is a fair offer. If its a gradable coin which means its not damaged or cleaned then $30 is a low ball offer. it would be worth more like $65.00. Here is one we have for sale that has been graded VF-30 by PCGS and retails for $99.00 Hope that helps.
