got this stuff today at a old farm house... 42 s quarter .. couple wheat's... some other neat stuff ..and the coin with square hole in center . no idea what it is..looks asian... pretty cool!!!! also got a nice old axe head.. its cookin in the woodburner right now to get the rust off.. and some modern clad in the tumbler...beautiful day for detecting ..had a good time... thanks for looking..have a good one!!!

Nice pile-o-stuff! Love the silver! ;)

Your square holed coin is a chinese cash coin... I made a diagram of the charactors and how to pronounce it - and what the front and back mean (kinda). It is not rare. Ch'ien Lung T'ung Pao is the most common standard cash in the history of the Chinese coinage. That means it's worth maybe three bucks. :P

wow thanks for the info jim... looked at some sites on chinese coins and there is lots and lots of them !!!!!!!! not good at reading them... but thanks... any idea on a year??

I still like the 1942 quarter. That coin saw some circulation in its day!
