I'm going to guess you get about 100-115 grams so you should make about $20 or so.
Nice find

I am at 120 grams, but I need to strip the 4 metal arms with the sterling skin around them, which is going to suck because it is on there really well

FYI of the 962 grams of weighted sterling candelabras, the 4 arms weigh a total of 200 grams, 50 grams an arm. The tough part is the entire arm is covered in a sterling silver skin. I am wondering if I should ship them out to a scrap place to be melted. Any thoughts?

I use one of the reusable shopping bags that dont rip. put it in there, fold it over and beat it with a hammer. All that stuff comes right out. And. It doesn't make a mess. A burlap bag may be a little better.

I am not sure that is going to work on the arms, are you able to strip the arms that way?

A lot of times the arms on those are lead filled. Good luck on recovering anything from the arms. You can try a utility knife but it won't be easy and unless you handle one daily like I do, you may end up cutting off a finger in the process in you aren't careful, lol.

This is how I do it. Remove arms and lay on cement. Take a hammer and pound the entire length of arm so they are somewhat flattened long strips. Take a sharp wood chisel and use hammer to cut a seam down the entire length. Use thin screwdriver and work up under the cut you made and use pliers to open up skin. A couple times doing this it can be done in a few minutes.

Bought 2 for $50. They weigh a combined 962 grams of sterling weighted. I am going to scrap them tonight and tell how much sterling is there. HH

On their bases, what does the base plate say? Maker? Any words about the curved pipe arms?

Nope, it said Fisher Sterling Weighted

My experience is there is less than two ounces of silver. Once you pull all of the silver skin off you won't have much. Most weighted silver I see is all plaster or a lead based interior. i used to work in a coin shop and my job was to skin them. Royal pain....good luck though. I hope yours has more silver than what I experienced.
