First Roosevelt Silver, a Merc & first Cross.
Took the 250 out again this Friday and got a decent silver coin hit and out came this cross. It's in pretty bad shape and I haven't cleaned it, but I like it. At first I thought it was gold, but it's not. Has alot of corrosion spots on it, yet it comes in as silver, even on my friends Minelab Explorer. I am going back to find the Jesus part that is probably in the same hole. On Saturday I got a nice dime hit and at around 6" came this Roosevelt dime. First for me. I thought it was a merc at first. A few minutes later, I get another nice dime hit, and out came that merc with a same year as one that I had found previously. I have realized that these little dimes trick the crap out of me. They seem to stay really quiet in those little clumps of dirt as I pull them out....it's like they're hiding.......so I've taken the extra step these days to switch to all metal mode as I pass soil by the coil with my hand. I was seconds away from walking away from that merc........it was hiding in a little clump I had gone over. This last merc brings my merc total to four. I never thought I'd even find a damn merc. Two months, four mercs........I can live with that. Pics attached.
