This Sunday I was only able to detect for 30 minutes at a local park just before heading back home after visiting the folks. Within the first 10 minutes I found this old silver ring and a nickle dated 1949. The CZ7a first showed a nickle at 4". Then a few inches next to the hole it showed a quarter at 6" which was the ring. It must have been in the ground a while to show up as a quarter. I've been mostly th'ing at the beach (in & out of the water) and have only found junk, junk jewelry and clad after a few hours this summer. You could imagine my surprise to finally find this beauty at a park. What's your opinion on the ring? It was tarnished when found but I gently cleaned it and was careful not to scratch it. It still needs a little more cleaning but I'm afraid to ruin it. Posted the before and after of the ring.
The nickle I washed with soap and water only. I don't know why but some of the metal flaked off it.
