I went to the fairgrounds today and yesterday for a few hours and found my first ring! It's not in good condition and I'm sure it isn't worth anything but it was sure fun finding it! It's marked silver and 6- which I think is the size. It was flattened and had some turquoise-looking stones in it..which started falling out the minute I tried to open it up to wash it off. I found a few pennies, the nickle and a quarter in my yard. All the rest of the clad....quarters and pennies.. I found at the fairgrounds...dating from 1968, the 70-'s, 80's, 90's to 2004. Most of the fairgrounds is still snowed in..so I worked in areas where the snow had melted. Most of the interesting "junk" finds where in my driveway! I told my husband I've saved him a ton of money on tires..finding all those nails! ;D I have gone out and detected in my driveway off and on for the past couple of weeks..as the snow melts..learning my detector. Besides what is pictured I found cans, pull-tabs and lots of pieces of wire! Most of my finds where in icy mud...got to love it! I always did like making mud pies when I was a kid! ;)

Nice going Treasure Lady. Now you can tell you hubby that the money saved on tires can hepl pay for your MD trip to Hawaii(HAHA).

That man is so ready to go to Hawaii! That's all he's talked about since we got married! I think we need more than the price of tires though..to make the trip! ::)

Congrats on the ring. Always has to be a first before there can be more. Good work on cleaning up the driveway. Get the old man on the business end of the detector. Once he's hooked, you'll have a full time partner. Spotz

Just show him pics of all the treasure laying around on the beaches and tell him you're willing to help pay for the trip if he can just get you there. HAHA ;D

Just step outside with your machine, put on the ear phones, turn it on & close your eyes & take a few deep breaths. You can smell it. You can feel it. It's calling to you when you sleep. It's all out there, just waiting for you to swing your loop over it. It is futile to resist. If you beleive it,, you will find it. Spotz

;D ;D ;D Thanks for the smiles guys! ;D ;D ;D I will certainly be detecting a lot of new places when the snow melts..since I live in gold country!

Would love to get up that way and pan but my knees and cold creek water don't mix too well these days. ;D ;D ;D bak at ya!

Contrats on the ring. Now you know there are rings at that fairgrounds so when the snow melts you will need to go back and get the rest. Good luck and Happy Hunting.

Looks like you ad a Fun day, Congrats ; jeff

Hay thats cool looks like you are doing it right. A idea on the fairgrounds look for the bleachers and try under them you have to work around the frame but it has been worth it for me. IF you can do sum research and find where the smaller old ones stood that is if it is a old grounds. I hope to be working a old fairgrounds in AZ. this spring. I went to the Library and found sum pic's in books of the old fairgrounds and the bleachers. SASQUASH

Thanks for the great comments and suggestions! I will hunt all over the fairgrounds.. when the snow melts! It seems like it's taking forever though! HH everyone!

Congrats on your first ring.

I remember my first one....thought it was gonna be a gold one until I cleaned the mud off. Turned out to be bronze or something. ::)
