This morning I went by the old Highschool/Jr. Hi to work along the sidewalks with my stinger coil I got for my ACE 250.? I worked the edge of a sidewalk along a grassy area of about 10'X10' and picked up a little clad to start with.? I had my GTI 2500? with me also so I took it and worked all the grassy area over very quickly, anticipating going on the the next grassy area and using the stinger again.? On the second pass, I detected a strong signal indicating a nickel at 2" deep on my LCD.? On pinpointing the machine's imaging feature registered an "A" size target at 2".? I just dug the tip of my Gator tool into the ground and gave the turf a flip and out popped a small gold colored? ring.? It appears to be a pinkie ring designed to be what is called a "Mother's" ring as it has a set for 8 birthstones, two of which are missing.? It appears to be gold as it? has signs of some wear but the surface is not discolored as it would be with a gold plated ring.? Inside the band is "OOO", the only inscrpition visible.? It came out bright and shiney with no corrosion or rust evident.? I will post a photo as soon as I go recover my camera which I loaned to my son-in-law to take pictures of my new Granddaughter!? I tried scanning it but it didn't come out well at all.? I have several more of those grassy patches to cover around the school, but got just a wee bit excited with my first ring find!? And oh yeah, my machine was set on "jewelry" discrimination mode.? ?I also recovered a zipper pull tab, $0.70 in clad, two big washers and some kind of a screw on aluminum knob to something.? Digging the trash paid off today!? JIM
