first relic hunt with the equinox.

Awesome video! I will be doing a test at a WW2 training base on Sunday with my 600 and I should have a video out then also.

I was wondering about something.

One saving grace for a large shallow target giving those nice high tones. Couldn't the depth meter provide some very important info here? Obviously this would take many hrs on the machine and digging up various targets to learn but if it's reading one shovel and sweet sound maybe a coil lift could also be telling?

Folks, real simple here.
You hit pinpoint and come over a smashed can 8" deep or shallower, pinpoint will whine big time.
Now I have tested also on both silver dollar and half dollar.
When you hit pinoint and bring coil over these you only get high pitch whine for around 2" on the half and around 3" on the silver dollar.

I think your pin point trick might have some problems.... remember some relics are giant objects like belt plates or box plates. I'm just used to the deus where it will tell you by tone without looking at the screen.

yeah but you still got to dig it ,it might be a giant silver or something else good...time will tell but I think its the weak spot of the detector imo.

I have hunted quite a few places with quite a few cans. Could recognize in a flash using pinpoint. Bigger iron trying to wrap, works on it too. Pinpoint has modulation. For bigger metal targets. But this modulation is not strength of tone but how pinpoints sounds of pitch wise.

If I am in a civil war site, I am digging anything nonferrous the Nox pops. Dot't care how big. Would even do with a Deus too. Can't be thinking can on big object with deusnor Nox, it could be a plate. Can a person dig a can by doing? Yep.
But comes with territory.
Wonder if the persons who detected before left the big target thinking can.
It happens, even wilth silver dollars.

Seems like every manual you read will tell you not to skip these signals since they can be large silver.

I've never even test driven a DEUS so I have no clue on its tendencies. How would it sound off with a 3" flat can vs a 3" silver dollar? My F75 has an overload alarm and tends to give more of a squeal over large aluminum. Definitely nice to have. I just think there has to be a way to sniff them out after some time on the machine. You seem to put the machines through the ringer so hopefully if you find out any tricks on this you will pass along! Thanks CD.

I like the machine a lot my only gripe is modulation of audio but on to what I do like its deep, fast, quite and fairly easy to set up. The Deus has more info in the tones but I need more time with the NOX tones but as TNSHARPSHOOTER has developed a way to help with the problem. That makes me think I'm correct about the tones not having as much info but its not a deal breaker , I just need it to go beep on non ferrous and it does that very well from what I can tell so far.
