I took a gamble and headed out with the F-75 to some new fields hoping that the ground was soft...it was! No frost whatsoever even though there is still snow from the last big storm. I decided I was going to go scouting for a new site. I have permission for a few hundred acres of fields all along a tidal river where I know there was early habitation so I went looking for one. I chose a corn field which was difficult because the corn had been cut but there were still foot long stocks...tough to swing through. I was about an hour in with not so much as a peep when suddenly I started seeing some good signs...glassware. I started into the iron as soon as the glass appeared. I managed to pull out a few little things, my favorite being the lead seal. The seal is 1870s. A friend and I both found this same seal in a field about three miles from where I found this one. Also found a broken ring, loom weight, buckle, parasol piece and assorted junque. As soon as the plow gets through I'll be making a return trip for the good stuff.
