Over the past weekend I had my first real outing with my White's Prism V. Searching a 1950's era cottage on Cape Cod, Massachusetts (my family's property), I found the items pictured. I can identify the partial motorcycle chain, and two other pieces I believe are boat parts. The last piece I need help identifying is the "blob" that looks like melted metal. The metal detector identified it at a 25 cent piece, but I'm not sure that this is silver. Any clues or thoughts? Sorry for the blurry pictures. Thanks for all your help on previous posts. I love this hobby!!

Thanks,

SecondCup

Glad to have you with us, SecondCup! Your silvery mystery find looks like a blob of aluminum-- probably a pop or beer can melted in a campfire or trash fire. If not, you can be sure that it won't be long before you do find one.. we've all dug our share.

PBK's so right!!The first day I bought my machine I was hitting these things in my own yard. With solid +84 readings on all of them.Normally that indicates a quarter on my rig so I was surprized to see these Globs comming up so consistently as+84 After rulling out Hot Rocks,I was so depressed about it I stopped searching my own property. For Quarters anyways. There must have been alot of melting of cans or possibly some welding that took place in my yard.Good luck

The top center brass piece looks like a valve for a toilet ballcock, and the bottom right is the lever/linkage from it. I used to do plumbing work. If you turn the valve piece sideways, is there a slot in it for the lever?
