My first post, although I have been in the CRH game for about a month now. I found this dime in a CWR. I believe it is a proof but I am not completely sure. If someone could help me ID this it would be great. So I purchased $150 worth of CWR dimes and ended up finding a '64 rosie in great condition, and an earlier silver rosie that has no date and would be impossible to ID because of the condition it is in. In my second to last roll I found this: not clad, edges of the coin look are one metal - whether that is silver or not I do not know.

Sorry, the picture is extremely blurry. Hopefully you can all still see it for a proper ID.

Yeah I know that. I guess what I am asking is if the coin is a proof or not?

Could be a proof from special mint set for that year. No silver dimes for that year though. Silver dimes are pre-1965 and then proof mints (S) 1992-present.

It's quite possible that your dime is plated. I've found chrome-plated and gold-plated dimes, even chrome-plated silver dimes. I've also found clad and silver proof dimes in circulation.

It looks like it could be , Post a picture of the back and that might help . They did not make "proofs" that year as they were all SMS - special mint sets Either way at most it worth a couple bucks if it is a SMS . And welcome to another fellow Utahn .

Best way to tell an sms is the edge. it should be "squared off" to some extent, and be thicker and fuller then a regular edge
