First Post and Gets a Banner

I assume you mean the Romanian coin find?
I was amazed too, but if its worth it, its worth it, regardless of how long you been a member. (IMHO)

One of my first posts got a Banner - I was so new I had to ask what a Banner was!!!
Its great to be able to share a great find AND be welcomed by so many seasoned and experienced professionals.

I get a laugh out of it too. Not because of the recent banner but because how people whine and complain if they don't make the banner or if someone else gets it.
Who really cares? As if they become a better hunter from making the banner. Maybe in fantasy land!
I made the banner once on my first account and it bummed me out!
I'm so happy now without any banners under my belt.
Different strokes for different folks!
Cheers,
Dave.

There are flaws in the system of things everywhere you look...it's just too bad we don't live in a perfect world. But then again would you want to?
Keep in mind this forum is not a democracy,it is ruled only by a few.
Simply asking the masses is fruitless, the answers you get will only create more ;you may want to direct your questions about that to the ones with their fingers on the button, the answers you seek may perhaps lie there.

If you find something awesome you usually have the inclination to share it with others. Sometimes with fantastic finds such as this you feel the need to share it with more than friends and family members. He most likely hopped online and found this massive forum and figured he would register and share his finds with the TN community. He could have easily went to another forum.....but he choose to be here. Seems pretty worthy and awesome to me.

I cannot fathom what post count would have to do with an awesome find and getting placed on banner. Fairly certain there are 20-30 year vets with AMAZING finds who don't have a clue how to navigate an internet forum. those finds deserve banner status too.

One would think the point of the banner would be to share fantastic finds with the community while giving a kudos to the finder. Doubt they made it to make people jealous.

But what the hell do I know...I have less than 10 posts. :occasion14:

if there was a section for "Banner Posts" and not just finds, you'd get my vote!

Well put!

The guy has been a member since 2010. Some people don't say much, but when they do.........

a banner may end up the only thing he gets out of those finds. His govt.seems in no hurry to caugh up his share.I vote double banner just to give him something.:occasion14:

There are probably many finds and MANY folks that would like to share special finds here on Tnet. But it would only bring headaches later if shared along with a million questions. Especially if a cache of gold coins were found with key dates. It's just not worth it....
