Cool find.

Great Find! Nothing like finding a coin from the 1700s!

Where in PA are you?

Fantastic find i'm yet to crack the 1700s

You bet it's an awesome find. I've been at this since the late '60's and haven't found anything near that good. But where I live our history doesn't go that far back either. Great find, welcome to T Net.

Thanks all. I'm located outside of reading , PA and I've found lots of old iron squre nails. the stone farm house dated to 1852 but there was an older building, now long demolished that I was hunting near with my sone. I can't wait to really canvas that area.

I just start to. I also live in Pa on an old farm. Just pulled an 1820 large cent out of the ground for my first find. Keep up the good work

Wow, you're out of the gates at breakneck speed. :hello2: Most folks start with 1900's coins, work back into the 1800's, and maybe dig a 1700's. Very cool, congrats! No turning back now...:icon_thumleft:

I wish I had areas that oldto hunt. I've heard that there are arrowheads around where I live but the town only dates back to just after the Civil War. I really wish that I would have gotten into metal detecting when I lived in Ohio.

Nice finds, especially for a first find. That area, with its history, should produce some more great finds for you. Good luck and HH!

That is too funny ! My wife found two 1950's dimes on her first day with a BH Tracker IV. You will never find me bad mouthing that machine , nor my wife. They both perform flawlessly everytime!

Is this where people from PA that live on old farms come too? I to live in PA on old farm land... And extremely rich in history. I haven't found anything like that... That's incredible. However I did discover an old slag road runs through my yard , a foot under the soil.
Question... What is your soil like? We got heavy red clay soil. Any coins I have found are so decrepit , they look like they were buried in acid.

wow Wow WOW!!!! BEST first find EVER!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! ...And my sympathies... Because you're now officially hooked ;)

Very nice:thumbsup: congrats:icon_thumright:
