Got this today at a pawn shop. They had $600 on it for the longest time. They had a sale today and wanted to get rid of it so they sold it to me for $180! About 10ish grams of 90% platinum with a ton of diamonds. From the 1940s this is a very very exquisite piece for the time. Sucks I can't wear it but my mom sure can if she wanted to. Works perfectly and has the original bracelet on it. Nice piece for the collection.

Wow!! Holy sh&@ that's a nice piece! Not only is it an exquisite piece for that time, but for now as well. That's a really gorgeous timepiece.

Excellent buy! I haven't run across a good platinum buy in any setting so far. I have seen pawnshops do confusing mark downs before. My local pawnshop once marked down an entire jewelry case to $5 a piece. Granted, most was sterling probably worth about $5 each, but I also pulled a small 10k ring, a pair of 14k pearl dangle earrings, and a few nicer/heavier sterling pieces which have mostly sold for $20-50 a piece. Was not sure what made them mark everything down, but I hope they do it again in the future.

Yea weird thing was that not only did they sell it to me for under cost the sale excluded watches.... I ain't complaining though haha! I found this 1942 ad, unfortunately my exact watch isn't here but there are some similar. Looks like this watch would have been like $6,000 new today

Now that is what I call a markdown. Great buy. I am certain surprised at how expensive they were when they were in new.

Outstanding find!!
