Figured i would (instead of cleaning the machine) try it out.
Took a chunk of the Ellensburg Blue Agate i found over memorial day weekend and just wanted to slab a piece to see how the saw ran.
After seeing the beautiful storm inside the stone i had to try something else too.

This was my second stone today actually, my first one was just about completed and the buffer grabbed it, throwing it into the back wall of the unit and breaking it.

So i cut a thicker one, this time the view inside the cut was beyond beautiful, Storm on the sea.

I made this today for my wonderful wife Cris. Not perfect but i am not doing anything else to it as i dont want this one to break too.
Before today, i have never cut a stone in my life let alone shape, grind or polish.
Handing it to my wife with the clasp on it, well you should have seen her eyes and smile.
That was worth it to me. She is wearing it right now.

Still steamed i broke the first one though.

Hope you all like it.

If you put a felt or foam pad toward the back of the grinding/polishing area you won't get so many cracked pieces. I mostly hand hold rather than dop and they do get away from me once in a while. Nice job on the heart!!

Very nice man, cant tell its your first one!
What made ya decide to start cutting and shaping rocks? Its something I've wanted to do myself, just haven't taken the time or bought the tools yet.
Cant wait to see what you make next!

That came out looking good. What type of stones can use use Flint and Chert work or is it too hard of a stone?
