Well got out on a friends place late yesterday, and started looking at a new spot. Went once before an found nothing. Well, yesterday was different. Was getting real choppy signals all day, alot of square nails. He was about ready to move to another spot about the time I got a good signal. Bam! Minie ball. Then ten feet from there, bam! Old lantern piece, then he found an old axe head. Then another good signal, don't know what it is but it's got weltausstellung wein 1873 anerk dipl on the right side. Did research, found out its the world expo 1873 in Vienna.. In mississippi that's pretty cool. The other side has a mans head with unreadable writing around it. Then in center engraved is lanahamer John g. Here's the pics of the finds

I could be wrong but that metal with the holes looks a lot like an old harmonica piece. Here's one for comparison...

I bet you're right. That was my first thought. Huh, cool. A gift from Austria maybe. Thanks.

Here's another one that was made in that same year 1873 that recently sold on ebay. It different from what you've got, but they were making harmonicas that far back. Could have been a souvenir from that world expo if it even is a harmonica..

A cool find!
