And it's a slug!

Absolutely no detail on the front, and you can only see the words "one cent" on the back, if you look at it just the right way. I'll probably never know the year. Any suggestions?

And some Indians. The 1887 and 1888 were found today also. And the 1889 and 1900 were found yesterday.

cool find/s,

Tough break on the large copper but don't fear, many of them come out as slugs, especially ones found in the fields. Coppers are the best!!!!!!! Hey, I took my first copper slug drilled a hole in it and it's on my key chain with me everyday ;D Congrats on the Indians too.

Congrats on your first. I hope the future brings you many more.

WTG, Buzzard!!! Great find!

Most of the large copper coins I have found have looked like that. I have had good results with the techniques I found in the Cleaning & Preservation Forum. The topic, Cleaning Large Cents. http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,39135.0.html . Please post a picture if you have good results.

I am curious what part of the US you are in?

Try a charcoal rubbing to see if you can get any more detail.

Congrats on your first!!! 8) Heck, I'd be very happy to find it!!! :o

Nana :)

nice finds, gotta love those IH's, as for the large cent, probably a 1854, lots and lots of them made/ As for the red book price, $0000.00 :(

I'd go back to that site and hit it really hard, slow down and really hunt this site, dig all the signals. I bet your gonna get some silver out of this site!

Any Large Cent is a good one. Nice IH`s. This means you are in a old site. Hit it hard. HH and good luck. Coinman66
