My friend of 40 years and I headed out to Digstock this past weekend. What a blast, first time ever going to a seeded hunt or any public hunt for that matter. Upstate New York has incredible history, and such beautiful leaves, water, people & food!!! French and Indian war grounds and the war of 1812. Very old homesites with acres to detect. 600 people going at it was pretty nuts. Sure met some incredible people! The first day was out in the fields and I couldn't believe I found a Classic Head Large cent. I haven't messed with it yet but it will be my oldest us coin by far. I'm sure I'll get a date. There was people all around and holes everywhere. The silver spoon was found later with three holes right next to it. It was deep. It is a Canadian silver maker that dates to 1840. These made the good case at the dig! The pictures after my friend in the field are from the seeded hunt. The case is my buddies, the reale was a gift. We both won fantastic prizes. Lots of firsts for me first Largie, ( I put pictures in twice, can't quite figure out the new site)first croatal bell! We had so much fun and hope to go to another!!! The other stuff people found was pretty incredible for me to see in person. I can sure tell why you all that love be in that neck of the woods, I loved it and hope to return!
