I decided today to knock on some doors down the road in a small community that dates around 1810. Seems everyone was working except for this one older gent at a house whose sign advertised it being Ca. 1855. He was more than happy to let me dirt fish. Started off kinda trashy around the front of the house close in. Moved to the inside of the driveway circle and got a nice hit and pulled out the big button, I know nothing at all about buttons, this is probibly the first old button I have dug. Got a decent hit a few minutes later got a good hit at 4" down, and out popped this great large cent. I had no idea what it was when I dug it up. I have never dug one before. I was so excited that I walked over to his little fish pond and gave it a little cleaning off to see exactly what I had. 1852!! Oldest coin I have ever found!! And a large cent to boot!! One I had never dug before. I could have went home right then and still had a great day. I dug some assorted trash, but very few pull tabs(2 to be exact) several .45cal,44mag, and a large rifle casing that I am still unsure as to what cal 45/70 i think, not a common one. Hit a small pocket spill with the 3 wheats in a hole togather. Moved over to the other side of the driveway went back and forth up and down the sides of the driveway till I was about 6' off of it. Hit the first quarter and just knew it had to be silver, sure enough out popped the 1938, 5 ninutes later 4 feet away out popped the 1943. First silver coins I have dug also. I was stoked. Still alot of area left to cover. Only hunted for about 4 hours. I had to use the pics with the flask, they were just a little smaller than the ones without. Hope they view as good as they do in preview. HH all.
