Hello all,

Saturday I didn't find anything at all to mention, until just about the end of the day and dug up my first half dollar(1972D). It forced a smirk at least. Sunday was no better at first, but finding the ring, a wheat and a token helped keep me in the arena for a little longer. The bullet casing...found a few weekends ago...I guess was floating in the bag for awhile, so it ended up pictured today. That wheat is a thin layer from being faceless...but I can read the date...1952D. Of course I did find about $3 in clad...so I can eat lol.

I worked two parks and a very large volleyball pit, didn't even have time to finish it...started getting dark. But I found nothing(in the sand pit)...not even iron or trash. I got about three really convincing signals...dug and dug and dug and couldn't find a single thing with any of them. I'm mystified and frustrated about that...slightly. It seems also like my detector is cancelling out a lot...starting to think it's malfunctioning.

Really hoping the finds improve because I'm getting a little tired. This is not a sob story or a pity party...I'm just starting to look the other way more often now...having a little less ambition. That aside, I do have plans to hunt some areas, quite a few of them...but it's gonna take some time and nerve to find the right people to talk to and do just that...'talk to them'.

We'll see how it goes.

That is all.

Big Coin - I bet they sound like a coke can!

By the way like the avatar.

hang in there, we all hit those slumps where it begins to feel like work, then before you know it 1 spot turns that all around!!

Hey don't give up that easily,we all have days where we think our detectors faulting. You did not get skunked, and any half dollar is a worthwhile find.Keep going.

Congrats on pulling a Kennedy half :occasion14: We all go thought this. Every night when I drive home from work I take different routes through the town. This let's me hunt for new sites and has given me the opportunity to catch people in their yard. I will do some door knocking when I see a promissing site and can see that people are home. All they can do is say no.

Great advice LD. I failed miserably and was very nervous the first time I knocked on a door. I practiced my comments to where I knew them in my sleep and that gave me the nerve to ask. And, like you said, the worst they can say is no...Brad

I guess it doesn't help that the heat indexes have been in the 100s, I am working 10hour days and seem to think I can just 'sleep enough' and keep going. I'll stop complaining lol. Thanks for the encouragements and suggestions everyone. CRUSADER, I took that picture a few years ago in Story City, Iowa. There was an annual Scandinavian festival going on and a guy brought his ship, the 'Yrsa', to display. I had to get pictures of it. It sails a few times a year for gatherings. Apparently, it was made by someone living in the Mojave Desert.

Great finds! Congrats! Those are great finds!
Don't believe me, take a look at mine! Plastic surface finds are my most interesting lately! Lol!

We all get into slumps. Clear your mind of the neg., look at all your options, and go for it! Self confidence is key.
You can do this! These are people find something they can relate to when you ask.

Because we all know what's out there hidden in the soil, waiting to be found.
I come home with less than stellar finds, does that stop me? Oh heck no! It's out there waiting, playing a game of hide and seek with ya. At some point I WILL find it! So will you!

Thanks Msbeepbeep...I'm still in the game.
