Been kinda slim pickins as of late, pretty rough 1861 or 64' Indian Head has been about it since i got a new machine last week, found at one of my favorite shoreline spots on Sept 6. Even though its rough I'm really glad to have found one from the war years, makes it mean that much more to me. Thanks for looking and cheers!!!! 100_2529.JPG

I would take that all day long.

it could have been, the whole back is worn away so its kinda thin, thats why I'm surprised i could still make out the front

found another in the same location but in the dry sand thats def a fatty but the date is worn off it

Go to Google and see if 1861s were just fatties...I found a Flying Eagle last summer that threw me....they were fatties too (at least the one I found) and I thought it was an IH until I took a close look...the back is the same as an IH. Man was I happy to find that....first in 12 years of detecting!

nice 1 Congrats

1859 to 1864 were fatties
and also in 1864 they started making bronze ones as well

Awesome find bro!
