Got out two times the first two days of 2016  . Yesterday I found the first ring of the year , just a mood ring :laughing7: . Also found a cool pendent that looks to be jade :dontknow: . My Brother in law collects gem stones and took a look at it and believes it's real  . Not worth much but it's the first piece of jade I have ever found . Total clad for that hunt was $9.26 .
Today's hunt was a bit better . On my 3rd dig I had wheat #1 for the year , a 1958D . After that I found a cool old piece of a lock , I think . Also found some plated junk pendents . I the middle of the field is where I got the first good find of 2016 :hello2:. It was a mixed up target , very jumpy between +35 and +45 . It turned out to be a nice Sterling silver chain with a junk ring on it :headbang:. Total clad for today's hunt was $4.63 . :icon_thumright:

You did well! Haven't had a chance yet, but I will! Congrats!

Congrats on the finds. Are u sure that chain is silver because that style of clasp was on bracelet and 2 necklaces that turned out to be 24k.

Being that the ring that was on the chain was plated junk I can't see the chain being gold .

Interesting that you've never found any jewelry with jade in it before Glen? :icon_scratch:
I know a lot of the detectorists on our west coast in British Columbia find quite a few jade pieces in the parks in Vancouver & Victoria.
Most likely due to the large population of 'new' Canadians immigrating from Hong Kong and mainland China to Canada.

Picking up right where you left off, good start to the new year.

pl8man, my kindred spirit of the schoolyards...that is a great haul. I really like the sterling chain. It seems that half of the time when we dig chains, they have good or goofy rings wadded up with them! Happy Hunting! Sub8-)

Sweet silver chain.
You're off to a great start. Congrats.

I went to my pounded field yesterday and all I got for the first hunt was a 1926 Wheatie and some modern clad. Oh well. I'm thinking about getting out there today before the arctic blast hits.

You ain't missed a beat. 2016 is looking to be a great year for you Glen. :occasion14:

That is what I thought if u check my posts I found a gold chain with two rusted rings and an Allah pendant and my wife said it looked too yellow and was fake I put it in a jar and almost threw it away turned out to be 24k about an ounce with the Allah pendant.

Really nice finds. Love the pendant! Looks like a great start to the new year

Great job! What a diverse array of finds, looks like you're starting off the new year great. Keep it coming and happy hump day!

Awesome! Nicely done! Congrats!
Looks like a warrior on the jade pendant.

I only had to contend with half an inch frozen crust....so far, but that will change!
