Went out Sunday evening for a couple of hours with the Sea Hunter, it was finding something every 2 yards, mainly nails. The first find was a part of a fork then lots of Nails (new and old) and one coin. Not sure what the coin is yet with all the corrosion on it, what is the best way to clean it up? first-finds.jpg

not found a really crusted coin like that yet....will be interesting in following thread to see how to get crust off and retain integrity of coin.

Fun hunt,

Keep on keepin on !!

Just a start and the Sea Hunter II likes all types of metal - stay with it and you will find many great treasures - anyway congrats and thanks for sharing your post.

Thanks a lot guys, just had a go at the coin and a piece broke off the side of it but it is only a penny and not very old but very corroded so no loss. I enjoyed my first 2 hour hunt and so did my mate Dan who has also just started with the Sea Hunter and we look forward to the next one this weekend.

Welcome, I hope you will have lots of finds to report :)

Hunts will get better the more you get out. The crust on those coins comes of pretty easy when they dry out, kinda like peeling an egg sometimes. Good Luck

Congrats on the new adventure. You will be amazed soon. Good luck!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys much appreciated.

Looks like a solid first hunt. Just train your ears on those subtle changes in the tones and you will find the gold.
Best of luck and welcome to TNet!

Thanks, I had another couple of hours tonight I will post the results.
