Detector(s) used
Technetics T2+ Equinox 800
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
I took the new nox 800 out for a trial run today. It was amazing. I found several things at what i thought was a hunted out spot. 1865 IHP, 62 silver rosie, 2 ring CW bullet, wheats, a handful of clad and the item pictured. Its kinda heavy for its size, non ferous and hollow. It was found at a 1800s home permission. Any ideas on its age or what type of metal would be appreciated. I could not find any markings on it.

Yup, made of either pewter or lead.
I too was thinking a chess game piece... someone must've been quite upset when they realized this was missing. :laughing7:

Nice find,
Dave

The Queen. No question about it. Elizabeth I.

I'd guess chess piece as well.

Here is a similar set from the Danbury mint. It is a pewter "Spanish Armada" chess set. Not exactly like yours... but you get the idea.

First hunt with the Nox 800? You are off to a Great start. Well Done on the chess piece, the Gardner 2 ring CW bullets, and the other finds.

I agree with Matt. QE1 without hesitation! And chess piece as well! Now, find Philip of Spain and you'll have a pair!

Nice find!! Where are the rest of the goodies?

Sorry i didn't post any pics of my other finds. I didn't have much time after i got home. The Indian head is still soaking in olive oil. It was in pretty bad shape but the date was good. The multi frequency really helps find targets you may have missed previously. It's really what sold me on the machine. I considered the Deus but after a lot of research, videos and hunting with people who own the machine I decided on the Equinox. Nothing against the Deus but I feel like you have to know what your looking for to know which frequency to go with on it. Of course I've never owned or used one personally so I may be wrong but i decided "for me" the nox 800 was just a better choice for the type of MDing i like to do. The price was better also. lol
