Well, the compadre is certainly a machine for people who want to just dig targets. No screen, one tone and light as a feather. It was a real treat!
I didn't do any of the "thumbing" of the disc knob. I dig anything that isn't iron with my White's, so with the Compadre I just disc'd out a nail and went to town. Super fast target recovery time. I spend way more time looking at the display on my M6 than I thought. I was also pleased with the depth. It rang out loud and clear on pulltabs at around 6 inches with the 5.75" coil, so I can't complain.
Didn't really find anything earth-shattering, but I did dig an old .38ACP casing and two S&W .32's, along with this enormous two ring bullet. It's been fired, so I couldn't really trust a micrometer on it, but I'm fairly certain it's .50 caliber. I put it next to a .45ACP for scale. It weighs in at one ounce, so hopefully that gives the bullet whizzes a clue or two.
Overall, I like the Compadre. I'll be getting a lot more use out of it. Thanks for looking!
