My dad and I recently upgraded from our old Tesoro machines (now that they're out of business) with new Vanquish 540s. Today we broke them in at a new permission: an old homesite thought to be from the 1800s. Sadly, no silver but we did find some good stuff and will definitely be going back for another go. We are loving the new machines! They go super deep and are accurate with pinpointing, depth, and target ID. The iron bias works great on small nails and such, though it does still pick up the larger iron nails and spikes.

The finds:
1910 Wheatie
1919 Wheatie
1968 Memorial penny
Brass/copper hose nozzle
Double bit axe head
UMC Co. 12ga casing
Harmonica reeds
Small shoe nail?
Unremarkable ring of some sort

Id to here about you going back to to one of your old sites and seeing what you missed with the other machine....might not find any thing i here those tesoros are goodens...

Great finds, with Toecutter stated bring your Silver uMax out for a ride see if you are able to pick up any Silver?

So here's an update on the axe head after an electrolysis bath. It's pretty rough and there are no stamps or marks that I can see, there is just too much pitting. But the handle was still in it when it was lost! I was hoping it would be in better shape but it's still a cool find and my first double axe head. 20200630_134436.jpg20200630_134504.jpg20200630_134525.jpg
