Finally got out for about 30-40 minutes today (had abdomen surgery 03/04/14)... just ran down the front side of our place on the road. Found 2 pennies ('60 and '69), a chunk of lead, and 3 aluminum beer/soda cans. Quit once I got into some of the "shaded" areas as I was only able to dig down less than 1" due to the heavy frost... STILL felt good to get out though!!

NOTE: Didn't post pics because hopefully most know what Lincoln pennies look like... LOL.

Really appreciate posts like yours. It feels more like me. Reading all of the success stories kinda makes me feel like I don't know what I'm doing, but then I realize there are more "not cool" finds than good ones. Patience is the key! It is nice to come out after a winter isn't it?

That's what you call dedication, loyalty...or addiction! Hope you get your strength back to where you can get out and do some real hunting, good luck.

That sounds like my first hunt of 2014 last night...except I didn't even find a penny lol

Congrats!
Heal well! The goodies underground will still be waiting for you.
I am hoping "all the ground" will be thawed by June! Lol! Last Sunday, could only dig where the sun shinned!
Lucky I don't know how to post pics...I dig a lot of interesting trash! Lol!

Yeah i can't wait to get out there myself once it gets a bit warmer. It's always a blast once you take a long break. Anyways thanks for sharing :icon_thumleft:

Weather forecasts indicates mid/upper 50's... so may try and get out today as well. My kids (6, 5, and 5) also like to go out and "help" me. I let them attempt most of the digging!! If I come across anything more interesting than yesterdays "treasures" I will be sure to post them... thanks everyone!
