Went out this morning to a recently turned under tobacco field that good friend's cousin owns. He told me that his cousin eyeballed a 1850's coin there last year. He wasn't sure what kind of coin it was, but I was chomping at the bit to get out there. Lots of old brick and glass/ pottery shards out there. mostly 1930's - '40s stuff, but there was some much older glass and pottery mixed in. Was only out there 2 hrs. Found some copper tubing, valve stem, silver solder, and what appears to be an air rifle front sight, melted lead and a small buckle. Not sure how old the buckle is. Sorry for the essay, but it felt REAL good to get out and hunt. Thanks for looking, Mr.b plowed field 003.jpgplowed field 001.jpgplowed field 002.jpg

Thanks guys for the likes, I really appreciate it. Not much to write home about, but a lot of fun!

Thanks Abe, its a new site that has some potential. The farmer that owns it has a lot of acreage that has been in his family since the 1700's. Could be a good situation. This was pretty much a scouting mission and had a heck of a lot fun. Can't hit a home run every hunt!:laughing7:

Nice buckle.
