First time out this year and didn't find much although it was a new location. I did however find my very first tax token. It is a occupation token from the state of Illinois. Crazy thing is I live in East Tennessee. After a little research it turns out these were produced in 1935-36 but is use until about 1941. It seems it was the a way for the state to subvert the Illinois constitution. (Funny how some things never seem to change.)
Anyhow, it may not be rare but I thought it was pretty cool. Thanks for looking.

By the way, if anyone has any more info about the token feel free to share it, I would love to learn more.

def. cool. where were u hunting

Thanks, I was hunting a house that was built in 1931 in East Tennessee. We are a long way from Illinois so I am not sure how this got in the ground here. Seems like this token would have stayed within the state.

Actually it is pretty common for sales tax tokens to travel out of state. Folks coming through and stopping to buy a soda often got several of the 1½ mill tax tokens in change, and when they got to their home state, they realized they had them in their pocket. Into the junk drawer they went, and some time later, the kids played with them and lost them.

I don't understand your statement about "a way for the state to subvert the Illinois constitution" - but then I've never read the IL constitution.
