The first hunt of 2016 wasn't bad, although I could have done better! We found some buttons (as usual at this spot), a shield (presumably horse tack although I am hopeful to ID it), and a pocket watch.

The shield (one can hope it's something revolutionary war related as I was in a known hot spot for that), it is also silver gilt:

A big flat button, can anyone date this style?

Congrats on getting out and digging some cool stuff. Hoping to get out this weekend for a hunt or 2 since it should be in the high 40's here in Northern Ohio.
