Good evening all. This is my first post on Treasurenet. Let me start out by telling you a little about myself. I have been metal detecting avidly for 15 years. I love this hobby. I usually go with my dad, brother, uncle and my good friends Dan and Rich. We have a blast every year competing with one another for total silver count by years end. It is kind of a short season up here in Maine so once the snow is gone I go as much and as often as I can. I went out this past Saturday for my first hunt of 09. The ground is still frozen here after a harsh winter so we were limited to beach hunting this time. I went with my dad and uncle. We go to this beach just about every year and it always seems to yield a piece of silver or two. This time was no different. We hunted for about 4 hours. I ended up with 71 total coins. 3 silver(2 mercs 42 and 23. 1 quarter 61) and 1 1928 buffalo nickel. My uncle found a 1919 merc, 46 rosie and a 1917 buffalo nickel. My dad found some wheaties. No silver this time, but I’m sure he will catch up.

The silver is pretty beat up, but its still silver.
