Howdy folks,
I haven't posted in some time, but the ground is just thawing out in Wyoming, so I haven't gotten to hunt as much as I'd like. Monday, though, I arrived in NW MO where I will be working for a couple of months.
On the way to the town where I'll be staying I stopped in an older town and was lucky enough to score multiple permissions at old homes. I didnt have enough time to properly hunt them all, so i stuck primarily to high tones. The first 5 yards were busts with wheat, but no silver. Then things started rolling along.
The high point of the day was my 1st BARBER dime. I know it's not a huge find for most folks, but for whatever reason this coin has eluded me over the years. I've found TWO barber halves, and a barber quarter, as well as multiple seated dimes, but this is the first Barber dime, so it's good to finally knock that off the list. It also allowed me to hit a dime trifecta for the first time. Enough blabbing, here are the pics.
The center is all silver, including the pendant. An 8 silver day! The other coins are the wheats for the day. Not sure if the watch back is gold. I don't see any corrosion pushing through, but there are no markings. Is there somewhere I should look for them on the inside? Also got a cool life insurance fob, which is a first for me.
Thanks for looking,
NNZ49er
PS: I will be in NW MO for about 1.5 months if anyone wants to meet up for a hunt.
