Me and Alabear went today for a couple hours and actually could'nt dig because the ground was frozen for the first few hours and we were just going to call it a day and wait till tommorrow. Even though the ground was frozen I still tried to dig a few signals on the way out of the field, and struck a little bit of Confederate gold on the way out. We really only hunted for about 2 hours after noon. I never expected to see this big Confederate staff button in the dirt clod. The button measures 23mm and has W. Dowler/ Superior Quality on the back. Well all I can say is what a great start for 2010. Years ago I had found a Georgia style CSA rectangle in a field nearby and new there had to be more Confederate relics close . WO :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:W

Great button and very nice condition! Gotta love the green and gold!

That's a great looking button, congratulations. I'm hunting around huntsville today and I hope I do as well as you did even though there was mostly union troops around here. again great find and congratulations.

That button came out of a field that has mostly produced Union relics so You just never can tell what's going to come out of the ground. You also have to have alot of luck. That's only the 3rd Confederate Staff officers button I have dug in all the Years I've hunted. Good luck and hope You find some good relics. Roll Tide!!!!!

Very nice way to start the year off. :icon_thumright:
