Hello All,

Decided to get out a bit...probably no more than 45 minutes...didn't have much sun left(Tip: Chores Eat Sunlight). I geared up, dropped the coil and swung over a 1935-S Merc. I'm OK with that!! Was the first hit that sounded good...and it was. Aside from that I picked a few quarters and pennies and a few bits of compacted foil. Then I hit the Tangee Rouge compact. It's totaled as you can see but i cleaned it up enough to see if anything else was readable on it. Googled 'George W. Luft Co.', was your usual historical information. I'm guessing the compact to be anywhere from mid 20s - 40s. I've found other 'Tangee' articles in the past.

Today was the first time a park/rec. official said anything to me. They ride around in the white truck with the city emblem and pick up garbage at all the picnic sites and pavilions. Well, he gruffly told me, 'make sure you fill that hole!' I complied that I would. It just seemed like he was teetering on the objective of ruining someone's day. But he never said to leave...so...

I made sure to pass that on to the moles, squirrels, groundhogs and chipmunks too...because they're pretty bad at that.

Thanks for the likes and comments, everyone. Greastart: I glanced up at your member info and saw 'Garrett Carrot' ... LOL ... that's good! The one I have is the only one I've owned since 2010...and I've used it like a baton...still working.

Nice finds Jarl. As far as the ranger's comment (make sure you fill that hole) - we all have to admit - we have found holes in the ground left by fellow (inconsiderate) MD'ers - nothing looks worse - so, I totally understand the Ranger's comments.

Nice looking Merc Jarl. Glad the "authorities" did not ruin your hunt.

Love the Merc!

That is a nice Merc, Jarl..and consider yourself lucky you're allowed to hint your parks, ours were shut down long ago due to reckless, lazy and inconsiderate hunters. I've actually not hunted a public site due to the hundreds of mounds left by moles...I knew if anyone saw me there they would immediately think I had caused that carnage. Congrats on your finds..Ddf.

Congratualtions on the silver and cool relic! :occasion14:

vpnavy: I understand...I hope I wasn't coming off as arrogant or snarky. What I should have done was talked to him...offered a little more of my time to assure him that I am not a sloppy digger. I don't know, if he had told me to leave...I guess I'd have to do that without fighting it. But it did make me feel uneasy...his tone and all. Thanks everyone for the comments and likes.
