So, it took four boxes before scoring my first silver! Not just one but three! Super stoked! Now I know there's silver still to be found and will continue my CRH quest! If anyone has info on the 1986 coins or the one that has what appears to be a missing obverse side to it, please let me know. See the attached pic of today's finds...

Nice finds. I have only found one commemorative half, and it was a statue of liberty/ellis island. I know some were silver but the one I found was just a clad. Still a great find though.

Congrats on your first score! The '86 coins are Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island commemorative halves. They are fairly common, and only worth a couple bucks but are really cool! I have found about 10 or so over the last 3 years. I'm not sure on the coin with the messed up obverse.
Good finds!

Lol....I like the way u stated that.....missing obverse side. That is one of the most worn Kennedy halves I've ever seen so that one might almost qualify as missing an obverse side. But if the reverse is just as bad maybe its missing both sides lol. Like the others have said those other 2 are Statue of Liberty commems and are clad but still cool finds. I've only ever found 5 of those CRHing myself.

GL & H$H!

BTW, I can't even see the date on that really worn half and I'm not sure what the edge looks like but are u sure that one's not silver?

I checked the edges and it looks like a clad. I also tried to get a real close look at the mint date and can barely make out what looks like 197_. So, it isn't silver but still interesting. Also, thanks guys for the information on the commemorative '86 coins. I'll hang on to these for now. BTW, do any of you have a favorite place to sell your coins such as eBay or Coins USA...?
